Dr. Tom Vansaghi
Purpose through Action
Dr. Vansaghi is the founder of Purpose Through Action which helps Rock House clients discover and define their core purpose, articulate it clearly, concisely and in compelling ways. He has also spent more than a decade guiding others in their quests to achieve their purpose through balanced living and goal setting within their key life roles. Dr. Vansaghi also serves as the executive director of the North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG). NAPCRG is an international, nonprofit association of primary care physicians focused on academic medicine, research and advocacy to provide holistic, cutting-edge health care delivery to help individuals attain physical, psychological and emotional well-being. Vansaghi also has an appointment as an associate professor of nonprofit leadership at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He teaches undergraduate courses on leadership development and the fundamentals of steering nonprofit organizations. He also serves as a senior fellow at the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to these roles, he directed the government relations, internal communications, media relations, marketing, fundraising, grant writing, strategic planning, web development and community relations for both an urban/suburban community college district and a regional state university. He previously held key positions within Governor Mel Carnahan’s administration in Jefferson City, Missouri. Vansaghi holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in public affairs and political science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in government from Northwest Missouri State University.
