Claudio has more than 35 years of international operational/general management experience in corn and oil seeds processing, organic and biological nutritional supplements, advanced and conventional biofuels.
He was one of the founders of EBB (European Biodiesel Board), and its President for several years, acting as the interface to EU Commission.  Claudio was formerly the CEO of OXEM, one of the largest biodiesel companies in Italy, and he was on the Board of Greenergy Biofuels Ltd, London from 2005-2009.

In 2001 Mr. Rocchietta founded NOVAOL, a Bunge Group and pioneer in biodiesel development, and led the company as CEO. During the same period, he was General Manager of the Italian sugar and oilseed company ERIDANIA.  In the early 1990s, Claudio was responsible for developing the "Green Chemistry" strategy for the Ferruzzi - Montedison Group, which ultimately formed NOVAMONT.

Claudio Rocchietta is the founder of BFPARTNERS, an independent strategic consulting firm with a diversified, world-wide track record in the Agribusiness and bioenergy/biochemicals sectors advising clients in the areas of legislation, feedstock origination, technology selection, sustainability certification, market introduction as well as business feasibility and project evaluation.  In 2018 Claudio was appointed as a Director on the Board of Vertex Bioenergy in Spain, following the acquisition of former Abengoa ethanol plants by Trilantic Europe, one of Europe’s leading mid-market private equity firms.  In 2019, Claudio joined as an associate to Rock House Advisors to collaborate on transatlantic projects involving the US and Europe.

 

In the area of agribusiness Claudio was involved as a Senior Advisor in strategic and operational development of a line of fully organic food ingredients throughout the entire supply chain from agriculture to nutritional supplement.  Claudio was also recently engaged in the development of game changing technology on biodegradable plastics as well as Advanced biofuels using 100% waste feedstock. BFP is active in supporting M&A transactions advising international investment groups on opportunities throughout the value chain.

Prior to this Mr. Rocchietta spent 4 years as the M&A Director for the Ferruzzi Group's oilseed division where he led acquisitions in US, France and Spain and became a Board Member in Central Soya (USA), Lesieur (France), Koipe (Spain) and Calgene (USA).
 

In the '80s he served in various agribusiness roles with CARGILL.  He also served as the CEO of the Italian subsidiary and as assistant to European President for business development, after having started his career in chemical specialties with W:R:GRACE.
